DOCTORS
Martin Rivas, DVM (Owner/Medical Director)
Dr Rivas completed his Bachelors degree in Animal Science, and his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree at the University of Georgia. After finishing school, he moved to Miami, Florida. Dr Rivas has a special interest in surgery, dentistry, and emergency medicine. He has been practicing as a full-time, and as a relief veterinarian for well known small animal practices and specialty centers in South Florida. He performs soft tissue emergency surgery at local ER/Specialty hospitals. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, and Board Member of the South Florida Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Rivas is an USDA accredited veterinarian, which among his responsibilities for animal and human health, it allows him to sign health certificates for national and international travel for your pets. As a veterinarian, he is licensed to practice in Florida, Georgia, and California. When not practicing veterinary medicine, you may find him running, playing soccer, or at the local coffee shop.
Adrianna Disla, DVM (Associate Veterinarian)
Dr. Disla is a dedicated and compassionate veterinarian originally from Puerto Rico. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a Pre-Veterinary focus before pursuing her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) at St. Matthew’s University. She completed her clinical training at Louisiana State University, gaining hands-on experience in a wide range of medical and surgical disciplines.
After completing her education, Dr. Disla relocated to Miami, Florida, where she will continue to provide high-quality veterinary care to her community. She has a strong professional interest in both surgery and emergency medicine, and is passionate about improving patient outcomes through timely, skilled, and empathetic care.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Disla enjoys spending her free time at the beach, relaxing with her dogs, and connecting with her family.

Steffi V. (General Manager)
Steffi has harbored a deep passion for helping animals and giving them a voice since childhood. With a career in the veterinary field that began in 2008, she has dedicated herself to the well-being of animals. Her ultimate goal is to open a rehabilitation center for animals, where she can provide care, foster, and help adopt those in need, especially from high-risk shelters.
At home, Steffi shares her life with four beloved dogs and one cherished cat. In her spare time, she loves to unwind by taking long, cozy naps with her furry companions, and finding joy and comfort in their company.
Steffi’s commitment to animal welfare and her nurturing spirit make her a true advocate for those who cannot speak for themselves.
Vanessa R. (Assistant Manager)
Vanessa joined Helpet in 2022 as a Veterinary Technician. Due to her dedication and outstanding performance, she has been promoted to Assistant Manager. Originally from Colombia, Vanessa began studies in Veterinary Medicine and Pharmaceutical Chemistry before moving to the United States, and she plans to complete her professional education in the future. Always eager and happy to provide the best service for pets, Vanessa also enjoys running, listening to music, and continuous learning.
Her commitment to excellence and ongoing education reflects her passion for animal care and personal development.

Roxana joined our Helpet team in 2026 to share her passion and great energy to our clients. She assists in customer experience but also with patient care and as a nurse assistant.
Jackselim R. (Veterinary Nurse)
Jackselim is a passionate veterinary assistant with a solid background in veterinary medicine. Born and raised in Venezuela, Jackselim honed her skills as a veterinarian in her home country before bringing her expertise to her current role. Now, she’s excited to continue her journey of learning and growth, with a special appreciation to Dr. Rivas for the support. Jackselim is thrilled to contribute her enthusiasm and knowledge to make a difference in the lives of animals every day!

OBSERVE – Dr. Jordan Nickell (Anesthesia)
Observe virtual veterinary anesthesia is an online anesthesia support service that was founded by Dr. Jordan Nickell. Dr. Nickell received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri. He then did a rotating small animal internship at the University of Florida, followed by an anesthesia residency at the University of California, Davis, and is a
diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia. Since finishing his anesthesia residency, Dr. Nickell has worked in both academic and private practice institutions. During this time, he noticed a vacuum of anesthesia support for veterinarians, their staff, and their patients. To help fill this void, he started Observe. Through Observe, Dr. Nickell can provide real time support for any patient that needs a procedure which requires anesthesia. Using video conferencing, he is able to track a patient’s vital parameters (heart rate, blood pressure, etc.) as well as talk with both the
anesthetist and the veterinarian to address any concerns. This helps to ensure that veterinarian can focus on the procedure, the anesthetist feels supported, and the patient receives the best possible care.
FLOVET IMS – Dr. Raquel Fuentes (Internal Medicine/Ultrasound/Endoscopy)
Dr. Raquel Fuentes is a native of Puerto Rico and is bilingual. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison College of Veterinary Medicine, where she received her doctorate in veterinary medicine. After graduating she continued specialty training completing a rotating internship and internal medicine internship in private clinics in California. She proceeded to complete her internal medicine residency training hours in a private practice in Miami, FL. She has successfully passed her Board Examinations. She has worked in multiple highly regarded specialty hospitals. Dr. Fuentes enjoys all aspects of internal medicine. Her main areas of interest include autoimmune disease, chronic inflammatory diseases, endocrinology and minimally invasive diagnostics (ultrasound, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, etc).
