Martin Rivas, DVM
Dr Rivas completed his Bachelors degree in Animal Science and his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Georgia. After finishing school, he moved to Miami, Florida. Dr Rivas has a special interest in surgery, dentistry, emergency and critical care. He has been practicing as a full-time, and as a relief veterinarian for well known small animal practices and specialty centers in South Florida. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, and the South Florida Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Rivas is an USDA accredited veterinarian, which among his responsibilities for animal and human health, it allows him to sign health certificates for national and international travel for your pets. As a veterinarian, he is licensed to practice in Florida, Georgia, and California. When not practicing veterinary medicine, you may find him running, playing soccer, or at the local coffee shop.
Katia C. Tahan
With many years of experience in the veterinary industry, Katia helps clients and doctors make everything possible. From checking-in and checking out patients, to drawing samples and taking radiographs, to assisting doctors with specialty procedures, Katia is a great asset to the Helpet team.
Veterinary technician with over 12 years of experience in the field. Has joined the Helpet Team this year. Johnnie has worked for several private practices in Miami. He brings experience assisting doctors in general practice, emergency medicine, anesthesia and surgery. Besides helping animals and their owners, he wants to be able to help human lives. He is currently working and training to become a paramedic (EMT). When not at Helpet or studying, he spends time exercising, running, and fit training, or spoiling his rescued dog “Pretty Cookie”.
Jessica has joined our team as a veterinary technician. She has worked in shelter medicine, as well as private practices in New York and Miami. Currently works for another practice limited to veterinary surgery in south florida. Jessica will be assisting you and your pet on all aspects of our services. When not working, you may find her relaxing at the beach, or spending time with her family. She has a dog, 3 cats and a fish.
Carolina has joined the Helpet team to be our Client Service representative. She will help you in the process from scheduling an appointment, to help make sure you and your pets are being attended above your expectations. Carolina is attending the Veterinary technician program, and her goal is to become a veterinarian. We are happy to have her in our team, and looking forward to help her grow in her career goals.
